Our volunteers help us help others
YCSP is very fortunate to have a large, dedicated group of volunteers who assist in many ways.
Most volunteer shifts are 3 to 4 hours.
Volunteer opportunities include:
*Drivers to transport shelter residents to appointments, plus other errands in the Sanford area. We supply the vehicles.
*Food Pantry in Alfred. Help organize and distribute food.
*Books ReVisited, our used bookstore in Sanford.
*Shaker Hill Bakery, May through December. Assist with baking, package baked goods and wait on customers.
*Dining commons, Henry Hall. Help with set-up, serving and light clean-up.
* Help at Mama Mia public suppers every Friday night, June through Labor Day. (Mama Mia’s has been suspended since the onset of COVID-19.)
*Help with the Shaker Hill Apple Festival in September.
*Let us know if you have ideas about other volunteering work you could offer.
