ADULT EMERGENCY SHELTER

We have housing for 37 adults at our shelter on Shaker Hill in Alfred.

Our staff is there 24-7, and it includes licensed clinical professionals.

Every resident is teamed with a navigator who helps people identify issues that led to homelessness, including substance abuse and mental health issues.

We provide a variety of support services to help residents improve their circumstances.

Please note that we cannot accept residents who are under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or who may be experiencing acute psychiatric distress. We can provide referrals, as needed.

FAMILY EMERGENCY SHELTER

We have shelter for up to 16 people in our Family Emergency Shelter in Sanford.

Families have access to:

·         Case Management

·         Daily Living Training

·         Parenting Classes 

·         Groups

• Communication Skills

•   Anger Management

•    Stress Reduction

•   How to Utilize Community Resources

• Job opportunitIES

The ultimate goal is to place families permanently in housing and to increase their ability to live independently.

Thank you to the members of the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children®, Bright Horizons at Portland, Kettle Bells 4 Kids, CrossFit Casco Bay, and CrossFit Harpoon for helping us open a Bright Space® for children at YCSP’s family shelter.
